Learning At Work Day
National Learning at Work Day, the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning, will take place on Thursday 14 May 2009. It aims to draw attention to the importance of workplace learning and skills.
Each year, thousands of employers take part in LAW Day, staging fun and business-related learning activities to encourage their staff to learn new skills that can then be put into action at work.
By getting involved in the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning you could:
· uncover new skills within your workforce
· motivate your team and
· help reach your business goals
All at the same time!
This year LAW Day matters to employers more than ever. Research tells us that employers and individuals that maintain and develop their skills are more likely to be able to adapt and thrive through current challenging economic circumstances. During this unsettling time, maintaining the ability and motivation to learn and adapt quickly to change will be essential – we should all be reflecting on our skills needs both at an individual and a business level, and taking action where needed.
The focus on skills has sharpened recently with the Government announcing more money and increased flexibility for funding schemes aimed at enabling businesses to continue to access valuable training.
Flourishing People already has numerous clients who we have helped to access funding to support training and coaching for their managers and supervisors and who are currently making the most of this fantastic opportunity. If you would like to join them please contact us so we can help you too.

Investors in People unveils new approach
Last week saw the launch by Investors in People UK of a new approach to delivering flexible business improvement support using an expanded Investors in People framework.
This new approach delivers depth and breadth of expertise and new forms of recognition which acknowledge employers’ commitment to continuous improvement.
The launch comes at a time when employers of all sizes and sectors are in increasing need of guidance and support in the face of challenges brought about by the economic downturn. New research commissioned by Investors in People UK shows that 42% of UK workers believe that their organisation could do more to make the most of its people’s talent to help it through the downturn.
Using this new approach, our team of Recognised Investors in People Specialist Practitioners can provide tailored feedback on the issues that matter most to you and your business.
