Performance management

Perhaps you already have performance management and staff appraisal processes in place in your organisation, but feel that you are not getting the best out of them. Or maybe you don't currently have any arrangements in place. In which case our human resources associates will support you through the crucial first steps in introducing an effective system.

Whatever your needs regarding performance management our human resources associates will ensure that any arrangements we propose complement your existing human resources systems and processes and fit perfectly with the culture of your organisation.

360 degree feedback services

Flourishing People work in partnership with Appraisal360 to provide a fully supported 360 degree feedback service.

360 degree feedback allows you to gather anonymised feedback from your work colleagues so that you can see yourself as others see you. The report produced:

  • prompts self evaluation
  • provides feedback on their competence and behaviour
  • facilitates peer and upward feedback in a non-threatening way
  • identifies strengths and areas for development.

360 degree feedback can be a valuable tool when used prior to finalising the design of a development programme.

We usually provide a 360 Review Meeting for each individual, the purpose being to review the feedback report and to agree a Personal Development Plan. Alternatively we can provide training for your managers in the skills required to support feedback effectively.

HR audits for small businesses

At Flourishing People we recognise how difficult it can be for owners/managers of small businesses to keep up to date with the constantly changing requirements of employment law. This can leave you vulnerable to heavy fines and costly tribunals. Our HR audits for small businesses have been designed to provide you with peace of mind and practical solutions to this problem.

Our human resources associates will undertake a thorough audit of your existing human resources policies, procedures and documentation. We will then produce a report containing priorities and recommendations for actions to be taken to ensure compliance with current legislation and recognised good practice.

It's then up to you to decide how much of that you feel able to do yourself. If you decide to retain our services for a small monthly fee we will keep you up to date with legislative changes. Alternatively we are happy for you to contact us on an ad-hoc basis when you feel you need advice.

Assessment centres

Flourishing People can assist you with the selection of staff for management appointments through the delivery of assessment centres built around your competency framework.

Working closely with your internal team we will review the job description and person specification for the vacancy and identify the qualities and competencies required, and then design and facilitate an assessment centre to enable these qualities and competencies to be observed and assessed.

Possible assessment centre activities are likely to include:

  • Completion of an appropriate psychometric profile prior to the assessment centre with results available on the day
  • Completion of a written task based on analysis of data to be submitted prior to the assessment centre
  • Face to face interview using competence-based questions agreed in advance
  • Preparation of a presentation based on the report mentioned above.

There are several things to consider so that the day itself runs smoothly and you can rely on our experienced associates to manage all of this for you.

Management of staff training

Every successful organisation invests in the training and development of its staff. However, many do so on an ad-hoc basis. Without a systematic approach it is difficult to answer questions like:

  • Are we investing the right amount in the right people?
  • Are we getting value for money?
  • Could we provide training more effectively?
  • What financial support is available to us?

Investors in People

Our learning and development specialists, several of whom are Investors In People advisers or qualified coaches will add real value to your learning and development activity. They are all experienced human resources practitioners with the ability to recommend practical solutions that really work. We can also assist you if you decide to seek external recognition through the Investors In People standard.
